We offer:

• exciting experimental programs that integrate natural sciences and develop research skills;

• practical science days tailored to teachers'' requests.

  In addition, we support schools establishing regional research labs by training instructors and advising on acquiring necessary laboratory equipment.

The Research Lab was founded in the autumn of 2016, when the Natural Sciences Olympiad team at the University of Tartu Youth Academy began developing integrated experimental programs for lower and upper secondary school students based on tasks used in the Olympiad finals.

To date, the Research Lab has welcomed more than 9,000 students from over 90 schools, and the feedback from both students and teachers has been overwhelmingly positive. In 2017, we were honored with the title of Science Popularizer of the Year in the category of Best New Initiative by the Estonian Research Council.

Students in our lab carry out engaging experiments to find solutions to scientific problems. In addition to gaining knowledge and hands-on lab experience, they also develop collaboration and IT skills. The high quality of the programs is ensured by the modern facilities of Chemicum and our knowledgeable and enthusiastic team. Over 70 people – mainly students and lecturers from the University of Tartu – have contributed to the development and supervision of the Research Lab.
