University of Tartu Youth Academy piloted Investigation Lab in the fall of 2016. Its goal is to provide both basic and secondary school students with a new and exciting way to learn science through experimentation. By integrating physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics, students can solve intriguing problems and learn the basics of lab-work. The experimental problems have been designed in cooperation with the Estonian Science Olympiad jury. Investigation lab experiments are 3–4 h long and take place at the University of Tartu Chemicum building. The program is in accordance with school curricula and difficulty levels. Students are supervised throughout by University of Tartu faculty and undergraduates.
